The Parks Family

Again, another session of a family from school. I taught Evan Kindergarten Enrichment last year and I have his brother this year. They are such a wonderful and fun family and I enjoyed my Wednesday evening with them at a local park.

Zoe and Leah

I had such a fun Saturday morning with Zoe and Leah for their session. I am Zoe's teacher and have known the family for a couple of years now. I felt so bad when her little sister started crying but with some easing and time, she brought out the biggest smile when I held up the camera... it was incredible!

The Webb's

A couple of weekends I was a bit nervous as I spent the morning with my boss and her family. Her oldest son is in my class and he is a wonderful kid and his little brother is just adorable and fun. The session went really well and I was surprised at how excited and ready the boys were about getting their pictures taken. I knew they were into Star Wars so throughout the session I had them saying names from the episodes but the best was when I asked them to say "Princess Leia". They looked at each other and made this face like "eeeew" and shook their heads. It was hilarious.

The Riley's

A Saturday a few weeks ago I had the pleasure and joy of spending time with the Riley family. The sky was a little threatening but it turned out to be perfect cloud coverage. Throw in a 3 year old, 6 month old and a HUGE dog and it makes for some challenges but great results! Here are a few from there session:

Last month I had the pleasure and opportunity to capture images for two wonderful families! Here are just a few images from those two sessions.

We had just put this little guy in the swing and gave him one push. This was the only picture I got because he started screaming almost immediately! As sad as it is, it is hysterical.

Yesterday we had my cousin's birthday party at my Nana's pool and Lake house. It was a great time, the kids had a blast, my aunt did a fabulous job decorating and it made for a lot of fun pictures! Here are just a few!

Welcome Baby Tristan!

Yesterday I had the blessing of doing a photo session of little Tristan. You may remember the maternal picks a few months ago... well, now he is here! He is absolutely adorable and while he was not too fond of getting his picture taken, we got some good ones. Here are a couple...

Reverse - Black and White

On Monday night I spent hours playing with a picture from a shoot from a week ago and I really like the effect of it. I took a picture that was a little washed out but beautiful and bright. I made it black and white and very carefully selected the daisies to keep their color. Because the daisies were bokeh, they turned out to look almost like watercolor. I kind of liked the overall picture at first, but something did not quite seem right. So I went back to it the next day, adjusted the brightness and contrast a little and then decided to crop it and I think I am happy with the final product.

I'm an Auntie!

Sorry I haven't posted in a little while... picture taking has been a little slow lately, unfortunately. But I did get to visit my nephew last weekend for the first time which was SOOOO exciting!!! I got quite a few pictures of him, but the lighting was poor and I did not bring anything else besides the 5-in-1 reflector which helped quite a bit. I worked for several hours on one particular photo, cutting it out and pasting it onto a black background, then erasing the edge at about 90something% transparency to make it blend into the background a little more. Posted it onto facebook and then it poofed... said it could not be found. Not sure how it could not have been saved on my computer if I was able to upload it to facebook. Was pretty sad, though. I saved the picture from facebook but it's obviously not very high quality.
